Instructor Bios

Roger B. Wilson, Jr. is founder, principal consultant, and the newMeetia blogger of The Conference Department, Inc. a developer of events and other information properties for media/publishing companies, associations and nonprofits, corporations, and governments. He began his business career with Xerox Corporation. From 1984 to 1991 he was Inc. magazine’s business manager, conference director, and then group sponsorship services director for both Inc. and Business Month magazines. Prior to founding The Conference Department in 1996, Roger was executive director of the Venture Capital Network at MIT and vice president of World Information Systems, an environmental business newsletter publisher and conference producer. He has also done freelance writing and editorial-development work for trade magazines and book publishers and penned political cartoons for local papers. Roger is a graduate of Williams College and received an MBA with dual concentrations in marketing and finance from the University of Chicago.

Dan Brown entered the publishing industry in 1983 as a newsletter reporter, after a brief stint as a newspaper and magazine freelancer. In the nearly three decades that have followed, Dan has been involved in every aspect of B2B publishing, from editorial and marketing to new product development and human resources. He is a former co-owner of UCG, one of the world’s leading specialized information publishers. Today, Dan is principal of Xponential Publishing Consultants, an international consulting firm serving B2B media companies by helping them with strategy, operations, and people. Dan is also a certified executive coach through Georgetown University. As a coach, Dan works with senior leaders in enhancing their leadership effectiveness and driving change throughout their organizations.
