We have sad news to report.
Many of you may have heard already about the passing of Margaret Parke. Here is the news from Ellen:
Dear Friends,
My mother passed away very peacefully yesterday afternoon at Georgetown Hospital after a very brief illness. She fell ill Friday night and had surgery Saturday morning. The surgeon told us that he could fix what was wrong, but couldn't alter the fact that she was 90 years old and had a weak heart. My sister got here from Minneapolis in time to say good bye. We give thanks for our mother's very long life and the joy she brought to so many. She was blessed to be able to stay in the home she loved and spent just three days in the hospital at the end. Her passing was just as she would have wanted it -- surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 19, at 10:30 am at St. John's Church Lafayette Square, with a reception to follow in the parlors of the parish house. A death notice should be in the Washington Post by the weekend.
